Trauma can change how you experience the world, your body, and even yourself. You may feel on edge, disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand. Trauma therapies such as EMDR offer you a gentle way to rebuild a sense of safety, stability, and trust at your own pace, and on your own terms.
Our bodies carry the impact of trauma long after it it done.
Trauma is a natural reaction that your nervous system has to a certain event or season of life, as a resourceful way to keep yourself safe and protected. It’s nothing to be ashamed of or wish away, but when we can understand trauma still shows up for you today, you can start to find safety in new ways.
There’s no one way trauma can look. You may notice more anxiety, sudden reactions, overthinking, or a sense of being constantly on alert. You may also feel emotionally numb, disconnected, and like you’re moving through life on autopilot.
In some instances, trauma may be a result of a single moment in time that didn’t seem so big back then, while others may signal signs of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which shows up as continuous symptoms that develop after someone experiences trauma. That can look like intrusive memories and flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance, or being easily startled.
In any way you’re noticing trauma, even if you’re not quite sure how to put words to it, we’re here to offer gentle support, self-compassion, and practical strategies to help you feel safe in your body, present in your life, and gradually reclaim a sense of calm and control.
We approach trauma therapy in a way that prioritizes your safety, choice, and collaboration on what you feel is the most meaningful way to move forward. You’re always in the driver’s seat and we respect what you want to share and how fast you’re ready to dive into things that can be hard to talk about.
Our goal is to build a trusting relationship and a secure space for you to remove the pressure and flow with the natural rhythm your mind and body are ready for. Slowly but surely, we’ll unravel any tension with understanding of how patterns are playing out today, so you can find ways to be more present and better able to trust yourself and your surroundings.
We work from trauma-informed and evidence-based frameworks such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and Trauma-CBT. These methods focus on helping you feel more stable, regulated, and aware of where trauma may be showing up in your mind and body. That may include things like grounding skills, increasing emotional awareness, and gently shifting patterns that developed as a result of trauma.
Therapy with us around trauma and PTSD is always intentional, with respect for your boundaries and nervous system.
Know that it’s very common to feel an inner pause or block around the idea of seeking trauma or PTSD therapy. You might be worried that opening up will make things worse, or that memories will surface that are too overwhelming to carry. Some people also find themselves questioning, “Is my trauma really trauma? Is it bad enough to seek help?”
We want you to know that these concerns make complete sense, especially if you’ve learned to stay guarded as a means of survival through challenging life experiences. We always create space for your honest thoughts coming into the therapy space, and we want to be sure you have all the questions answered as you’re meeting with your therapist for the first few sessions.
If anxiety is affecting your peace, your relationships, your work, or your ability to feel present in your life, that’s more than enough reason to reach out. Part of our role is helping you make sense of what’s been weighing on you and guiding you toward support that truly fits.
We’re hopeful that this is a time where you can feel authentically yourself, knowing you will never be judged or pushed to work that you’re not comfortable with. We work together to honor what your goals are, while always placing your safety as the top priority as we build capacity to stay present, grounded, and supported.
You get to set the pace, agenda, and ground rules. We’ll follow your lead.

It’s natural to see trauma influencing life at different ages in a wide variety of ways. Our therapists are experienced in offering adults, teens, and children the specialized support they may need to navigate their experience with a deep attunement to what’s developmentally appropriate to maintain a truly safe space together.
We’ll help you understand how past experiences may still shape your nervous system, relationships, and sense of self today. Together, we work to build grounding and regulation skills, gently address trauma-related patterns, and strengthen your ability to feel present, steady, and in control.
We’ll create a safe, consistent space where teens can explore emotions, reactions, and experiences without pressure or judgment. We help to build coping skills, increase emotional awareness, and feel more supported as they navigate school, relationships, and identity development, especially when trauma has disrupted a sense of safety or confidence.
We’ll make sure children feel safe, understood, and supported through age-appropriate, trauma-informed care. We use developmentally attuned approaches to support emotional expression, strengthen regulation skills, and rebuild trust in their environment and caregivers as they grow and heal.
